The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting an event titled, The Impact of
Domestic Abuse on Our Children on March 9th at 6:00PM at Walhalla Middle
School. This event will shed light on the indirect victims of domestic abuse and
what we can achieve when we reach out for peace. Michael Cogdill, retired news
anchor for WYFF 4, will be our keynote speaker for the evening. As a child, Michael
experienced domestic abuse and will share his testimony of how it has impacted
his life. We will also have resources available to provide education and information
regarding domestic abuse. We hope you will spend the evening learning about
domestic abuse and how we, together, can combat domestic abuse in the future.

OCTOBER is BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH

A Call to Action Oconee is supporting Bullying Prevention by sponsoring a poster contest for any Oconee County student in grades K-8. Create a poster using the theme, Stand Up, Speak Up to spread the word that Bullying is NOT ok.  

ABUSE is NOT OK!

A Call to Action Oconee is pleased to host the Covenant Players, a professional group of actors, during the week of October 23-30. They will help ACTA as we share the message that: ABUSE is NOT OK! EVERYONE can do SOMETHING to STOP ABUSE. Let’s STAND UP & SPEAK...
